Bunmi Ipinnaiye, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ponyan Ward, Yagba East Local Government Area, Kogi State, is said to have committed suicide in a Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps cell.

Men from the NSCDC apprehended Ipinnaiye for the attempted murder of his son, who was claimed to be fraternizing with several youths involved in social vices
Reporters had it that the deceased assaulted his son with a machete on their way to the farm and that the incident was reported to the Civil Defense, leading to his detention.
According to a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the late APC chairman refused to answer questions during questioning and was locked up in one of the security outfit’s chambers.
When the cops arrived to start the interrogation, he had committed himself by hanging himself with his belt.

Attempts to contact the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC’s Kogi State Command for confirmation of the occurrence were unsuccessful since his phone was switched off.
SP William Aya, the police public relations officer for Kogi State Command, promised to contact our reporter after speaking with the area’s Divisional Police Officer but has yet to do so as of the time of filing this article.
