The Nigerian Army has allegedly received fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and their families.
The fighters and their families surrendered to forces from the 25 Task Force Brigade in Damboa, Borno State, according to a statement released on Monday.
According to the Army, there were 104 ISWAP militants and their families, including 22 males, 27 females, and 55 children.
“BREAKING: ISWAP combatants and their families totaling 104, including 22 males, 27 females, and 55 children, surrendered to forces of 25 Task Force Brigade Damboa, Borno State on Saturday, February 5, 2022,” according to the announcement.
